FAQs

Which style of insulation is right for me?

Every type of insulation varies in its features and most ideal applications. What is most critical when trying to purchase the right insulation is an understanding of R-value and how it impacts your home efficiency. If you’re not sure what level and type of insulation Russellville AR you are needing for your home or business fill out the form on our contact us page and we will get in touch with you to help you determine the best options available.

Can you just add a layer of new insulation on top of the existing insulation in my home?

We usually recommend removing insulation before applying newer insulation, however in certain situations this can be an effective solution to solve key issues with temperature consistency and energy consumption. We provide free assessments to our clients so that we can provide multiple solutions to your current insulation situation problems. If you are interested in getting a free estimate, head over to our contact us page to fill out the form and our team will be in touch to schedule an appointment soon.

What amount of insulation do I need to have in my home?

This all comes down to the climate of the area that you live in. Concerning Northwest Arkansas you could be in two different climates. Most of Northwest Arkansas is going to require R30 – R60 for uninsulated attics and R19 – R25 for floors while a small sliver of the Northernmost part of the state you will need a minimum of R38 for uninsulated attics and a minimum of R25 for floors. We always recommend adding more Insulation Russellville AR rather than less because it will protect you against rising energy costs in the future in addition to performing better overall.

What is a Federal Tax Credit and what does it have to do with insulation?

There is such a thing as a Federal Energy Tax credit that allows a taxpayer who has increased the energy efficiency of a structure to subtract a certain amount from the taxes they owe to the IRS. The Department of Energy classifies energy tax credits in two categories, ‘residential’ and ‘non-business’. Nonbusiness energy tax credits cover a portion of materials and equipment for things like insulation, roofs, and windows (as long as the standards of materials and equipment meet the Department of Energy requirements). If you think that you might be able to benefit from an energy tax credit or you are not sure, please give us a call or reach out to us by filling out the form on the contact us page and we will reach out to you and help you assess your Insulation Russellville AR federal tax credit eligibility.

What is Spray Foam Insulation?

Spray polyurethane foam (SPF) is a spray-applied plastic that forms a continuous and seamless insulation and air sealing barrier on walls, roofs, around corners, and on all contoured surfaces. It is made by mixing and reacting unique liquid components at the job site to create foam. The liquids react very quickly when mixed, expanding on contact to create foam that insulates, seals gaps, and can form moisture and vapor barriers. SPF insulation is known to resist heat transfer extremely well, and it offers a highly effective solution in reducing unwanted air infiltration through cracks, seams, and joints. Our spray foam experts can help you determine if spray foam is right for you. Call today to schedule a free insulation Russellville AR estimate.
